Itty Bitty Committee was born out of necessity, love, and a mother’s intuition.
When our newborn, Nova, arrived, I quickly noticed something that didn’t sit right. Like many babies, Nova spent a lot of time on her back—sleeping in her bassinet and riding in her car seat. I became concerned about baby balding and wanted a gentle, protective solution to keep Nova’s delicate hair and scalp safe.
What seemed like a simple fix turned into a frustrating and concerning search. The protective bonnets we found on the market weren’t designed with real-life infant habits or safety in mind. Some were far too big, creating a serious risk—Nova could easily pull the bonnet down over her entire face, covering her nose and mouth. Others relied on adjustable parts with small plastic pieces that could be pulled off and become choking hazards. Velcro closures caused even more issues, pulling at fine baby hair and damaging clothing it came in contact with
None of the options felt safe. None felt right for our precious baby.
With Nova as our inspiration, we developed the original itty bitty bonnet—a secure, properly sized, infant-safe bonnet designed specifically for newborns. No loose fits. No choking hazards. No harsh closures. Just a thoughtfully designed bonnet made with babies’ safety, comfort, and real-life use in mind. What started as a solution for one baby quickly became something bigger. As we designed our Nova-proof bonnets, we realized we wanted to provide the same quality and luxury to our older girls and the whole family. Our Itty Bitty Bonnets grew beyond a single product into a family-focused brand rooted in luxury, intention, and care. Every product we create is guided by the same question that started it all:
